DIY: Sweat Shorts

Since it’s been a while I thought I’d bring out a good old DIY! Since winter has more than officially left us there seems to be no need for my sweat pants ( However it does get unseasonably cold at times). I decided to cut up my old sweat pants to make a cute pair of sweat shorts! All you need is a pair of old sweatpants, a scissors and possibly a pen if you want to be extra careful! As you can see I didn’t use a pen, which may or may not have been the best idea.
First things first is to try the pants on and see just how short you’d like them to be and mark it with a pen. You can then cut straight across, or fold the pants in half and cut diagonally going upwards from the middle to the sides. Make sure to make it long enough to roll up the sides.

Hopefully this is what it should look like. To make sure that the shorts don’t unroll, press them with an iron and sew a hand stich, one on each side. That’s completely optional but extremely helpful! These shorts are super comfortable and a great way to renew an old pair of sweats. You can wear them inside or outside, I wore mine to the gym once only to discover I prefer sports leggings, but that’s another story for another time!
